Heather Herndon Wright is Director of Supply Chain Diversity for the Vistra Energy family of companies including Corporate Services, Power Generation and Electric Retail.  This role leads the effort for the development, promotion, and oversight of a national strategy and architecture to increase the inclusion and growth of both Diverse and Small Business Enterprises across the supply chain from Suppliers to Channel Partners.

 

Previously, she was President and Chief Executive Officer of Herndon-Wright Enterprises, a certified Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) business management consulting firm with an emphasis on the growth and development of Diversity companies and Corporate Diversity Initiatives.  She served as publisher of Women’s Enterprise (WE) Magazine where she was the Executive Producer of the international award-winning documentary “BUSINESS: America’s game – Where are the Women?” and the book “Seeds of Success”.

 

Mrs. Herndon Wright has held several Diversity positions in the non-profit, public and private sectors.  She served as the founding Executive Director of the North Texas Women’s Business Council (Now Women’s Business Council Southwest) and Sr. Director of Alliance Relationships for the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), where she participated as a Founding Board Member, leading the effort to establish and maintain Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) Certification Standards & Procedures and also drafted the Universal WBE Standards & Procedures for WEConnect International.

 

Mrs. Herndon Wright also served as the National Director of Supply Chain Diversity for both Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu Network Communications. In addition, she held the position of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Liaison for the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport Board where she performed outreach and contract compliance functions on federal contracts. 

 

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Dallas/Ft. Worth Minority Supplier Development Council, Chairs the Utility Industry Group of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, serves on the Executive Committee for the Edison Electric Institute Business Diversity Group and the Institute for Supply Management Sourcing & Supplier Relationship Management Committee, as well as several local and regional committees.  She is also the founding and current Chair of the Board for the National Veteran Owned Business Association (NaVOBA), the premier certification organization for Veteran Business Enterprises,

 

She has been honored with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Applause Award, the DFW Minority Supplier Development Council and the Women’s Business Council Southwest Volunteer of the Year Awards, the Dare to Risk Award given by the North Texas Women’s Business Council, the American Indian of the Year Award from the American Indian Chambers of Commerce of Texas, the M Company Catalyst Award from Minority Business News, USA and was named Texas Best Mom by the Native Texan Hall of Fame. 

 

She has a BA from the University of Texas at Dallas in Government & Politics with an emphasis on Constitutional Law, a Master Compliance Administrator (MCA) Certificate from the American Contract Compliance Association and Lincoln University and maintains her Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) and Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) recognition.  She is most proud to be married to Randolph Wright with three children and four perfect grandchildren.
